Due to past history and trashing of the T in the lgbTq i am not one to link to America Blog however this post will make your blood boil and lift the veil The Title of the Post is Obama Defends DOMA in Federal Court – if it hasn’t been lifted already about just how committed ObaClinton is to our full social justice and equality..read this post and weep from RAGE . Channel that anger constructively – through the hypocrisy and lies back in the face of our commander in chief – Change we can believe in – yeah right , a politician if their lips our moving its probably a lie. So corrupt is our system , our Theocratic Oligarchy- just read the post and post it yourselves..better to know the ugly truth , than to have false hopes..Pressure must be brought to expose this lie and why DOMA as well dadt has NOT been repealed when both could be done with the swoop of his executive pen. SHAME ON HIM ! and the Neo Libs. jumping jeebus on a pogo stick even Clinton filed briefs declaring DOMA unconstitutional – NOT OBAMA. America blog is going to be updating that post with more quotes from briefs through the day apparently its over 50 pages long

At this point, despite my intense dislike for Obama, I have to point out that Obama was right to petition the SCOTUS not to hear the case. In point of fact, all the co-plaintiffs in the case, with the exception of the man who instigated it, did the same thing – for the sake of the LGBT community!
There was no chance that the SCOTUS could, much less would, rule against DOMA since it is proven via law and legal precedence that the US Government has the vested interest in maintaining discipline and morale in the US military (the basis of the court case).
That’s not the sort of legal ruling that would be good for the LGBT community to have rendered from the SCOTUS. Not hearing the case is a good thing because of that.

Methinks you are conflating the Defense of Marriage Act with Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.
Don’t feel bad, PP – Obama lied to everybody, and not just about LGBT rights. A trillion dollars worth of trickle-down economics is what it is even if you call it a “bailout.” And a troop reduction in Iraq ain’t all that if the troops go to Afghanistan instead of coming home. And covering up torture? It’s just so “Bush!”
indeed jonalon is confusing the two – i posted below on DATA – my dear , you were so right all along. – obaClinton is my gastault at the moment – meet the new boss, same as the old boss. I have two and only 2 legislative things on my mind. Inclusive hate crimes and inclusive enda. the cornerstones of any social justice movement. I take heart that people of colour, first nations, had to deal with 400 yrs of bad precident. neo – con , neo lib its the same beast. And we are being Shock Doctrined at the same time. – i am still glad i voted.
we need more co ops to generate wealth within our own commuity – there have been some amazing activities in the Education Front –
oh and doncha you know War is Peace – no.end.in.sight. not till every last drop of oil is out of there and then some. – its post Orwellian Days.
oh and jonolan’s pond is quite murky – concern troll. and a racist of some sort. however that comment can sit there and grow mold. long time no see jonolan.
Yep, I typed in the wrong acronym. I’d been recently arguing about (against actually) DOMA and it was still in the back of mind.
I notice though, in your dislike of a (sort of) Conservative’s opinion, you’ve chosen to completely ignore the point of my comment. Ah well…
Oh, sorry for the quick follow-up post, but I thought you might want to look at this: http://lawdork.wordpress.com/2009/06/08/dadt-scotus-rejection-whats-it-mean/ in regards to the SCOTUS not hearing the case against DADT.
LOL I really shouldn’t try to comment on blogs about similar issues when I’m as tired as I am right now. Sorry – but at least you can enjoy a bit of laughter at my expense.
nobody is laughing. wink my ass. I am feeling liverish. bout now.
Clinton signed DOMA and had campaign ads in 1996 bragging about it.
Well I for one am taking action. I’m sick and tired of being lied to by two-faced politicians, who tell us one thing and do the exact opposite. I will not give the DNC my money or my vote.
I encourage anyone within the GLBTQ community affected by Obama’s decision to join in with the chorus of wing nuts calling us “pedophiles” simply because we want our marriages to be recognized by the federal government to unsubscribe to the DNC. Don’t give them your vote. Don’t give them your money. Once these bastards lose enough financial support, they’ll realize that they screwed us over once again. Hit ‘em where it hurts – right in the pocketbook. Unsubscribe by the masses. Let them know that we are outraged.
I’m with Chloeelise – no money for the DNC. I might give a little to a few Democrats in tight races, but with them – they WILL KNOW what I think about this inability to hang tough for us!
One of our Senators (Barbara Boxer) is set up this year to run against Carly Fiorina (R). No way jose!
(Nice for Chas Bono who has the money ready for her sex change surgery, thanks to her mom, Cher.)
